LYDIA QUINONES
Surrounded by her loving family, Lydia Quinones passed away on March 26, 2019 at the age of 90.
The youngest daughter of 11 children, Lydia arrived in New York City from Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico at the age of 18 with her brother Nicholas and her sister Florence. Lydia had a zest for life, was feisty, and lived it to the fullest – independently, and on her own terms.
A few years after arriving, Lydia met and later married David Quinones (deceased) whom she had four daughters with: Leticia (deceased), Annette, Wanda, and Carol, all while living in East Harlem, New York City. Throughout her life she enjoyed Spanish music, loved to travel and visit her large extended family in Puerto Rico, savored Italian food, enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center at St. Benedict’s for many years, and loved to shop! In her senior years, Lydia lived life independently in Bronx, NY with her loving fur baby Benji, taking him for long walks or strolling him around in his doggy carriage.
Lydia is survived by her three daughters: Annette Kulick, Wanda Quinones, and Carol Russo, her loving granddaughters: Jessica Kulick and Jennifer Kulick, her younger brother: Manuel Ruiz Diaz, and her dog: Benji, all of whom she loved dearly.
