Dorothy Straub, 88, formerly of Bronx, New York and New Fairfield, Connecticut went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2019. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Straub, with who she celebrated 69 years of marriage. Dorothy’s legacy includes running for city councilwoman in the Bronx, a career at Grolier Publishing, sitting in for Mrs. Claus at meet Santa events and leading tour groups in Canada and throughout the United States for Leprechaun Tours during her retirement. However, by far her largest impact was the love, support and admiration she gave to her 6 children, 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Robert Straub, Thomas (Linda) Straub, Richard (Terri) Straub, Nancy Aloise, Carol (Phillip) Ziegler, Dorothy (Jim) Noonan. Survived by grandchildren: Christine (Chad) Loe, Dawn-Marie Mongelli, Robert Straub, Thomas Straub, Jaclyn (James) Cotgreave, Amanda (Donna) Rogers, Patrick Rogers, Melissa (Jake) Lindsey, Nancy Anne (Shawn) Thompson, Lara (Anthony) Scarpati, Jaime (Macy) Steers, Thomas Straub, James Noonan, Christopher (Shea) Noonan, Michael Straub, Richard Straub, Sean Noonan, Joseph Noonan, Aidan Noonan, Mary Noonan, Catie Noonan. Preceded by great grandson Finn. Survived by great grandchildren Xavier, Alexa, Kory, Haydyn, Cara, Morgan, Anthony, Penelope, Will, Sloan, Makayla, Samantha, Liam, Sophia, Chase, Marley, Beckham, Gracie, Adeline.
Visitation to be held at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home Bronx, New York March 3, 2019 3pm-7pm. She will be laid to rest at St. Raymond Cemetery in Bronx, New York on March 4, 2019 at 11am.
