Obituary for Anthony J. Abbatiello Jr.

Anthony J. Abbatiello Jr. (Butch) from Yonkers, New York, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019, surrounded by his wife and family. Anthony was predeceased by both parents Anthony and Rose Abbatiello, his sisters Shirley Durniak and Mary Engel and his first wife Patricia Abbatiello (Thompson). After marrying Patricia they raised their two daughters in Edgewater Park in the Bronx. Patricia passed away after 31 years of marriage. He then met and married Cleo Abbatiello. He and Cleo lived in East Elmhurst, Queens for 11 years before moving to Middletown, NY. He retired from Time Warner cable for which he worked for over 40 years. He helped build the infrastructure of cable technology today. Anthony was known and loved by many. You could easily find him on any given day working around his house, fixing something, cooking, mowing his lawn, or just making someone laugh. He had an open heart and a welcoming soul. He was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is survived by his wife Cleo Abbatiello, his two daughters Regina Ricci and Christina Abbatiello, his stepson Tarcio Barbosa, his only grandchild Roberto Ricci Jr, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great, great nephew, in-laws, many wonderful friends, as well as his beloved dog, Prince.
